• Tournament Fixtures
  Closing Date : KK Handicap Tournament
  Those of you who have not submitted your entry forms please do so before Decmber 26,2007. Play off day is on Saturday December 29,2007. Please participate,this is a good opportunity to gauge your progress after a year of hard trianing. Win or lose is not important,but to take part is.

  Results of the KK Open (Handicap System)
  Here are the results of the KK Open (Handicap System) just held on 29-30 December 2008.
  • Champion : Stephen Lee (Handicap 4)
  • 1st Runner-up : Han Shin Nee (Handicap 4)
  • 2nd Runners-up : Sim Sie Kuang (Handicap 3)
    and Bryane Chin (Handicap 5)
  
  Note: Nicholas Chin and Angela Tian did not take part because they were away participating in the Nationa wide tournament at Sarawak.

• Training
  Holidays Training Camp
  It is the tradition of Kota Kinabalu Table Tennis Association (KKTTA) to hold holidays training camp at the end of the year.
  It is no exception this year. An experience coach from China,who is currently coaching the Johore team, will spend two months here training our players. Prior to taking up the coaching job in Johor, Coach Zhang Kwok Tse had spent 2 years in Sarawak producing top youth players.
  The trainees will be divided into 2 categories:
  • Advanced
  • Intermediate
  You will definitely benefit from his vast experience, please register with Mr John Hong at the practice venue adjecent to the Asrama in Likas Sports Complex.
  
  Training program for beginners during holidays
  Since the practice venue will be used for the Advanced and Intermediate players training camp during the school holidays beginning on November 16, there will be some changes for the youth players - beginners category.
  
  • Tuesaday/Thursday/Saturday - Cancelled
  • Sunday 2:00pm-4:00pm As usual
  That means if you are not joining the Advanced or Intermediate trainings, you can only practise with the local coach on Sunday.
  You can practise after 5:00pm on other days, but there will not be any coach to train you.
  
  Practice timetable for adult players
  The school holidays training camp affects the adult players too.
  The training session for advanced category will start at 8:00am everyday and ends at 12:30pm.
  Then the training for the intermediate group will starts at 2:00pm and ends at 5:00pm.
  Therefore the venue will only be available to the adults after 5:00pm.
  
  KKTTA TO ENGAGE A FULL TIME CHINA COACH
  The KKTTA, in endeavour to raise the standard of play in their players, has decided to engage a full time China Coach for a period of two years, commencing on 1st July 2008. To have more effective coaching and learning, all coaching seesions will have only 4 to 6 players, and each coaching session will have two hours duration. KKTTA is at the moment working out a coaching schedule to accommodate all types of players, young and old, students or working adults. Please get in touch with Chieng Shaw An or John Hong or any KKTTA Committee for details of the coaching session and coaching fees. All concerned parents and players will welcome such a good move by the KKTTA.
